Fun things to do in South Florida for Valentine’s Day

Looking for a Valentines day activity? Something romantic? Maybe you and your date are just looking for a fun activity and nothing to romantic or awkwardly private. Don’t want to do the cliché dinner and a movie, want to do something different, and a little more exciting? No need to look far, there are quite a few things going on in the South Florida area. Here are our top five things to embark on during this day filled with love.

Ipic Theaters Valentine’s Day comedy night live.

Looking for a good laugh this Valentine’s Day? The iconic Ipic theaters located in Boca Raton in Mizner Park is hosting a Valentine’s day comedy night live, which will take place on Valentine’s day which regrettably falls during the week this year but that’s fine, I’m sure you can stay up and have some play time just this one time. They have two showings, 7:30pm and 10:00pm, door will open 30 minutes prior to showtime. It will feature some the funniest comedians all over the country. Devin Siebold, Tony Devo, and Kristin Key are the acts for the night. There is an age restriction on this event, guests must be 21 years of age and older to attend. The cost of the ticket is $35.00 for premium plus and $30.00 for premium.

Valentine’s Day under the stars

Oceans 234, located at 234 N. Ocean Blvd, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441 will be hosting Valentine’s Day under the stars. Enjoy a romantic 4-course picnic dinner right on the beach. You can pre-order your dinner from the online catering store by February 11, 2018 and they will take care of the rest. There is a special menu with fine cuisine for you to choose from prepared by the restaurant. You can choose from land and sea as your main course all the way down to your dessert. You will receive a tote bag which will include a blanket and a lantern. A tote bag which will include your 4 course meal (appetizer, salad, entrée, bottles water and a wine selection). How intimate and romantic does this sound! If your looking for that one on one alone time, this is definitely the route to take.

Lunch at the Museum

The Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, located at One East Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 is hosting a Valentine’s Day lunch between the hours of 11:30am- 2:30pm. This could be a great evening for 2 single or taken BFF’s just wanting to celebrate the day, no pressure involved or a romantic lunch date for the working couple unable to celebrate that evening. Enjoy a nice lunch and then take a scroll through the museum and enjoy some of the captivating exhibits. The lunch is included in the cost as well as a sweet treat (two cupcakes), for $21.95, $19.75 for members. No reservation required just show up and enjoy.

Spend the day at the park

For all the nature lovers out there is also something for you to enjoy, spending a day at one of Fort Lauderdale’s finest parks. Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is one of the best, where you can rent a canoe and paddle along a freshwater lagoon or fish from the seawall. They also have hiking trails for bike riding and skating. There is a beach access through a pedestrian tunnel located under A1A, as well as picnic areas available for rental. While scrolling through the park there is a lot to learn about plants and wildlife, so consider this a peaceful, vigorous, educational date however you spin it, it will be suiting for the ideal couple. Feel free to put your own twist on it also, bring in some things to make it extra special. A picnic basket with some snacks, a bottle of wine, or a canvas to paint with an opportunity to connect with nature and each other.

Couples Night in Paris

Roho Kitchen will be hosting a French-inspired evening for couples located at 8338 West State Rd 84 Davie, FL 33324. Roho Kitchen is a full service catering for social events. They begin with passed hors d’oeurvres and cocktails, followed by a 5 course dinner and live music. Live music Nanette Molina, classically-trained vocalist, Nanette enjoys singing powerhouse songs also loves singing sultry, soothing standards. Registration are made on first-come, first-basis and has to be completed by February 14. The cost is $99 per person. Keep in mind the above mentioned is included in the price as well house wine and beer. You are even allowed to BYOB, there is no corkage fee. Bring your own alcohol for even greater time.
